A mixed bag of Yashica goodies but in the middle, next to the cased Yashica bulb-flash, is a promotional Yashica digital watch - piccie grabbed in stop watch mode...

Wow, that wristwatch sure is da hype, man! But, if you will forgive an ignoramus for asking such a stupid question, what is that gadget on the lens of the GTN?

That slightly weird looking device is what Yashica call their 'Auto-Up Lens'; it is used for close up work, allowing you to shoot from 45-80cm (18-32 inches). It combines a close-up lens with a carefully calibrated prism that covers the viewfinder and rangefinder to allow precise framing and focusing. They also made one for the Lynx, Minister and J rangefinders. They clip onto the lens rather like the metal lens hoods for the ML wide-angle and standard lenses, being held in place by a screw.
It's a very handy accessory for a rangefinder. Back in the day you could buy the Electro 35 GS/GT/GTN as a special edition kit in which you received the camera, the two Auxiliary Lenses and their shoe-mounted viewfinder, the Auto-Up lens, the ST-7 tripod and a dedicated hard case.
I'm trying to buy a compact brochure for the Electro 35 range to add to our growing selection of literature; my current one is too big for my A4 scanner and is even too large for A3. I no longer have the patience for 'scan-and-stitch' so a smaller brochure will have to do; I've found a shop with a couple of them but am having difficulty beating them down on price... Wish me luck!

The Auto-Up works very well, Michael, and I have some for my other cameras too.

I have several of those watches squirrelled away somewhere ..... New Old Stock in original boxes etc. I will bet the batteries have long since expired after ~25 years and was surprised to see that one working in OP's picture!

I managed to grab this little beauty the other day: a Yashica-branded lens cleaner.
From the logo, I reckon it's from the early 1960s but it's a beautifully crafted metal 'bullet' case with what feel like sable hairs; they are incredibly soft and strong. I'm going to pop one under a microscope to see if it is natural.

Yashica-chic or Yashica kitsch...?
It's the 1962 Shiga Yashica Sailor Boy figure...it's a weird figure as he's trying to pull his trousers over a bare behind; I'm not quite sure what sort of corporate message it is supposed to be sending! I've seen another version with green boots and a white cross in the place of the white dot on the pupil of the open eye.
To be honest, if it wasn't for this Forum it would be about the last thing I'd buy but it definitely classifies as a 'Novelty'.

Yashica-chic or Yashica kitsch...? I would indeed deem this question purely rhetorical... (Then again, don't they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder??)

Today my faith in humanity has been restored :-) ... I acquired a nice package (without having seen it before) at an ok pricepoint. Parcel arrived today ... the two Zeiss´es are MMs and "A-" ... there is a Tamron BBAR MC 70-210/3.5 in it ("B)" and a 139Q in immaculate condition - I have never seen an 139Q with a pristine original leatherette ilike this one. However I will most probably put the 139 back on sale as my shooting bodies are an RX and a FX-D SE ...

I understand your choice of camera bodies; the RX has become my absolute favourite of all Contax models.

I don't know the origin of these more elegant 'Yashica' watches than the digital one in the thread's initial image but they are of a very good quality.
Watch calf leather
Ladies watch
I'm assuming they were promotional items intended for Yashica's distributors or top retailers.

Fascinating - I've not seen Shiga represented wearing ruffs before. Nice find on Ebay...

I wonder why Yashica decided for that outfit when the theme of the Expo '70 was " Progress and Harmony for Mankind". The person behind yashicasailorboy.com does not know either, he has an entry in his blog about it: yashicasailorboy.com/2019/09/

This strange back-pack has just made its way to Wales from southern Europe. FX-D Promo Back-packEvidently released to coincide with the release of the Yashica FX-D, this back-pack has quite a large capacity, a zipped pocket and adjustable back-straps. I have no idea where it was made or where it was introduced to an unsuspecting general public. I suppose it could have been a large European consumer photo show or perhaps Photokina. It's fun though.
