Hi all. To the best of my knowledge, the Yashima branded microscope was not the same company that made Yashima-Yashica cameras. Totally separate. Yashica did make microscope adapters, however.

An enlargement and crop of an inspection tag from the inner lid of a Yashima microscope box - borrowed from a CataWiki auction listing - shows Yashima's address from 1969. It doesn't match any of the addresses I've seen for anything associated with the Yashica/Yashima companies. Both had corporate offices in Tokyo, but I think that's about it. EDIT: to add... They are apparently still in business. www.microscope.co.jp/

I was going to ask if they were at one time affiliated with Yashica, but I don't read Japanese very well. Or at all.

A couple of oddities that are probably the first things to end up in a trash bin after opening the box of a new camera... From the Yashica Electro 35 Gold Kit : the English language side of a 1 page instruction sheet on affixing the Adhesive Auxilliary Distance Scale Tape. I doubt I've seen a single Electro 35 that actually had one of these applied, but I suppose I'd better double check if I have one and never paid attention. An export notification card, for (I presume) an E.P. camera purchased from a military PX. This was part of the same Electro 35 Gold kit, with a filled-out warrenty card that specified the selling dealer location as "Okinawa". It's also worth noting that there were two different warranty cards with this kit. One for the "Electro 35 Gold Mechanica", and another one for the "Electro 35 Kit". Unfortunately, the camera and everready case weren't part of this bundle as it came to me, so I can't say for certain this was included with an "E.P." marked camera, or it was just a duty-free or 'vacation' purchase.

Not sure if this was included with all Yashica FR-I, at least it came in the one I have:

Here is part of a brochure for Yashica's new TL and TL-Super cameras. As soon as I can get my A3 scanner operating I will be able to produce a scan of the entire brochure. Yashica TL-Super brochureWhat is of particular note is the presence of two rare Yashica lenses: the Reflex Yashinon-DX 500mm f5 (!) and the Auto Yashinon-DX 80-160mm f4 zoom. Also worthy of note is that this page provides the optical formulae for all the lenses pictured so I'll shortly revisit our lens database and update any missing details that may be shown here. This brochure is also the only reference I've been able to find to the 4-piece Extension Tube Set which was recently referenced in the Accessories Section.

The reverse side of a product insert for a Yashica TR7000 (a.k.a., 107 Multi Program), showing the compatible accessories and lenses... including two of the first MC zoom lenses.

Hi Randy,
Thanks for the post. It seems that our optical formula for both MC lenses was incorrect so the list has been amended in the light of the data from that TR7000 insert.

Hi Randy, Thanks for the post. It seems that our optical formula for both MC lenses was incorrect so the list has been amended in the light of the data from that TR7000 insert. Wow...now I wonder if there might be similar changes on other/later MC lenses from whatever may have been included with 108 or 109 models.
