After a trip to the usual online shops, it was surprising to see that a lot of Kodak ColorPlus, Gold, and Fuji canisters in 35mm are not available again until October 2nd or later. The same doesn't extend to the more pro-version film stock, but it is odd to see it just the same. It's back to testing with bags of expired color negatives for now, I guess.
One web spot I'd usually go for better pricing on brand stock is Mel Pierce Camera in LA, and from what appears to have been a rather quick decision - they are permanently closed. Shuttering a brick-n-morter storefront given the current conditions is understandable, but it's surprising to see them go completely away, after their history.

I can understand a shortage in film when production is stopped because of covid19, but I do not believe the photography stores about the lack of stock, at least here in Europe. No so long ago happened something similar when Tetenal announced the cease of their production, suddenly the next day the online shops were showing the C41 chem kits as "out of stock" and a week later magically the stock was back but at higher prices. They are toying with us as usual, but now with a some kind of believable excuse.

... They are toying with us as usual, but now with a some kind of believable excuse. It's possible, and it probably hasn't been the first time, nor will it be the last. I had the same thought when Acros got pulled, and a short while later, Acros II shows up with a hefty price increase. That wasn't exactly subtle.
