Where might the 5 millionth, 14k gold-plated Yashica-Electro 35 be today?

Way back in 2004, when I was in full swing trying to make my Yashica Family Tree chart, I came across the Gold-plated GTN. I also came across a Gold-plated GS a few weeks later. It was in an Ebay sale, and I inquired with the seller about any information he had, and if I could use his photo in my chart. The latter was OK, but he simply said he got it off a collector. No more info than that. If it comes out OK … here's the original image. Over the next few days (July 2004), Yashica Guy and I exchanged emails on the GS and through Joe's contacts between them they reckon that there were some gold-plated GS's made for store window display for "Featured Dealers".

I've also seen some look-alikes for sale, they often do not have gold-plated lenses, and the gold usually just doesn't look right, unlike the above GS and a real "Special Award Camera" GTN . Yashica Guy has a few photos of his gold GTN on his "variations" page.

Whoa! Sam Spade is alive and kicking, it seems! ;) There might be a gene from an uber-researcher somewhere in my DNA, or the more probable is... sometimes I just get lucky. :) One other question. I wonder if this was a contest open to the US/Canada only - or to the circulation area of PopScience - or was this a worldwide invitation to win the trip and camera?

In trying to answer my own question, I found one comment about gold GTN's by Sylvain Halgand on collection-appareils.fr"About fifteen GTN “GOLD”, gold plated were produced for commercial ceremonies celebrating 5 millionth “G” sold. It should be noted that even its shutter was gilded!!!" That seems to be the extent of info beyond what's been mentioned here so far. Perhaps there were multiple contests in multiple sales regions, with only 1 person being awarded the actual 5 millionth camera which went to the lucky Mrs. Ortiz.
