Hi Folks,
At long last I managed to grab a companion for my 60 year-old Yashica 35 - another Yashica 35...but this has the brighter F1.9 lens.
Yashica 35 - both lenses
I was able to afford it as the filter ring has a dent in it so bidding was low; hopefully, it should not take too long to remove the dent. Other than that, both camera and lens are in great working condition - those early Yashica cameras are built like tanks!
That's another one off the bucket list...

You're quite lucky, Graham! I don't have any of these Guys, but i do really love their Design, which comes originally from the CONTAX II. assets.catawiki.nl/assets/2019/1/16/c/0/f/c0f44df9-23b7-4cba-8c1d-2a079ad6d006.jpgThe Yashica 35 was/is being a clone from the Contax II. And whileas Yashica made with Zeiss Oberkochen into 1972 the Agreement for the Collaboration, and the new C/Y Contax-Yashica Lens Mount, the Circle was being closed here, and the Contax RTS, presented on Photokina 1974, was the 1st SLR with the new Lens Mount.

The Yashica 35 was/is being a clone from the Contax II. The Yashi somewhat resembles the Contax in design but, other than that, there is next to nothing that those two cams would have in common (fixed lens vs. interchangeable lenses, totally different shutter designs etc. etc.).

I meant from the Design Point, Aesthetics, it's a Clone, and it truly is into that Term. Anyway, it's a cute Camera.

Yashica 35? Contax II? Throw in a Yashica Y35 and all three bases are covered.
