It's some sort of idiotic, dumb "cult" some freaks made into 2005 - i've noticed this back into that day, and thanks god, the webpage from "Kameradoktor" is still being online, to inform you guys about that pseudo "Cult" hereby:

Translated into english. warning, this is a very long story coming up:
Foreword October 2010
By my reply email (below) to an "insulted" Tomioka owner and mine
Following research on the internet in 2007, I became aware of the 2005 "born" Tomioka myth.
The unsubstantiated claims on the "contradiction-bursting" "birth page"
The two "producers" were for someone who since the mid 70's every test and every message of the analogue
Photo World had read, not tacitly accept.
Of course, I knew that except me, many other photo people with a clear mind this
grotesque statements and eye-catching contradictions in "history" were noticed.
But it was also clear that at least a whole range of photo friends the Tomioka side either
not at all or only very fleetingly and completely uncritically read, then this fairytale as truth
and, in the worst case, bought a Tomioka for a fantasy sum.
I did not want to convert these seduced disciples (I probably could not),
but more victims should be prevented by my info page.
I would never have guessed to what extent this myth had poisoned innocent photographers souls,
and in which wasp nest of fighting Tomiokianern my text would come to today.
Good that I have not set up a guestbook here and only occasionally over google
on a forum post of one or the other Tomioka wasp poke.
Almost throughout, it shows that the wasps not only did not read the Tomioka side objectively,
but not my text either.
Like angry religious fighters, they defend their beliefs and ignore factual facts.
All possible lower motives and interests are assumed to me,
usually just those that are completely alien to me, and against which my text is directed.
One or two Leica fans will also be there because I was in my first indignation
The text was written down loosely and also the Leitz Noctilux made quite madig.
But that only shows that EVERY exaggerated enthusiasm for a particular brand went against the grain.
The two original Tomiokans themselves write that they never had a Noctilux for the test comparison,
but they use the (most notably) highly praised Noctilux to praise the Tomioka even higher.
A not so good Noctilux is therefore used as a "comparative" evidence to one also not
especially great Tomioka highest, and this in turn helps all the relatives
with Tomioka suspicious Porsts, Revues, Cosinons, and Yashinons,
to be "suspected" of the willing to be of the highest quality as well.
By the way, in the color photo test of 1980, I had to use the old (1975) Noctilux 1.0 / 50mm
compete against the top league of the 1.2 / 50s, and anyone who has a bit of a clue, is clear
that between 1.0 and 1.2 in the lens calculation and construction are worlds.
The old 1.0 Noctilux was certainly a good one at the time of its launch
(and very useful for the available film photography at the time)
1.0, but 1.2 had it easy to be significantly better in absolute terms.

Email to a Tomioka fan (1.2 / 55 mm) or
"How did the Tomioka fairy tale come about?"
Hello photofriend,
Good that you have sent me the link, because I am by no means a Tomioka expert.
Also, I did not want to make (you) Tomioka lousy, nor praise my Cosina 1,2 / 55 above all.
I was always bothered by the aggressive one-sided praise of the "own" brand,
as it is e.g. Leica owners have always liked to do.
Most of them did not know that almost all Leica lenses were up to the present time
built on Zeiss calculations.
My tomioka skepticism did not trigger you
but the conspicuous enthusiasm in ebay and some forums.
From 1973 to 85 I did not miss any photo magazine and no test,
but Tomiokas have not distinguished themselves there
(I remember tens of brand names, but not Tomioka).
If there were suddenly too rude high starting prices for the swarming
(300-600 €) appear on ebay (and "Oh, horrible, over 400 € end"),
do you become suspicious and ask yourself: what is behind it?
Having been on the Tomioka fan page now, I suspect
that the two photographers at least share in the fairy tale (uups ... myth).
They even speak literally of the "Tomioka myth" and declare
a major goal of their side, to spread this myth even further.
Maybe they had to sell some 1,200 in 2005 because they also talk about
Several have been tested in comparison with the Noctilux.
Noticeable at all the certainly thought-out enthusiasm of Noctilux.
Incidentally, that was and is also such a completely inappropriate myth.
The first enthusiasm in the 70s can still be accepted,
because there were hardly any light giants and the sensitive films were one
Catastrophe.
At least the test with the following competitors (see below Test Color Photo 1980)
would have had to stop the myth, because the Noctilux 1.0 / 50 was the worst
(grottenschlecht) under the brightest lenses. But if a myth is there first ....
www.tomioka.deThe Tomioka page turns out to be a confused hodgepodge when read closely
made by people who do not have the right perspective,
but to cobble together a company "story" that does not match anywhere.
To "prove" the outstanding Tomioka quality is simply claimed
the "famous" Tomioka lenses from the 50s would be top lenses.
Shown are but Yashica lenses, and Yashica Tomioka is only in 1968
In addition, in the 50s, probably still the European
Optics products have had the nose).
Even what is still stated, are absolutely no milestones in the lens construction.
Somehow, the two probably also noticed that this is not convincing,
and tries the 1/2 Tomioka by the "Noctilux effect" (what is that?)
upgrade.
The Leitzians, who still have not realized that at least the 1.0 Noctilux
"Scrap" (sorry, see foreword) was comparing it with their own myth
do not like to hear and freak out completely, if they then read the "formula"
1,2 Tomioka = Noctilux.
Asterix would say: The spiders, the Romans.
Who has a Tomioka and the Noctilux tests knows, will not wish
that its lens is as "good" as a 1.0 Noctilux.
It also speaks for itself that the Tomioka is more of a 1.2 / 55er Yashica, which is the
Leica (the worst lens in the test) was relaxed (see test excerpt, link below).
The two sections on Tomioka and Noctilux are full of hair-raising nonsense:
1. First you did a comparison test with a Noctilux
2. then you have had no "real" (?), But (!?!)
3. the experiences with this lens confirm their claims (huh?)
4. Then "cost the Noctiluxe on ebay usually more than 4000 euros" (ojeh!)
5. Of the individual Noctilux versions, they do not have much idea either
6. That they never had a Noctilux for the test, is credible if they from the
extraordinary sharpness already swarming at 1.2
7. Nice that the Noctilux also "strong colors makes", you can
yes in the colorless night really good use
If sooo a Tomioka, of course everyone wants to have one for 599 (ebay) Euro,
and I understand that nobody wants my 1,2 Cosina for 120,
from my 1.2 / 50 Pentax (in the test even better, than the good Yashica)
Not to talk for 270.
By the way, the Tomiokans train in the "test" a Yashinon 1.2 / 55mm Tomioka,
overwrite and name it 2x with Cosinon 1.2 / 55mm Tomioka.
Seems well with the company affiliation not everything is so clear.

In any case, you have the two recognition for their successful
Pay special attention (or was it missionary work?).
In just 3 years (since mid-2004) they have managed to get theirs on many forums
To find believers.
Some have already found their fulfillment in the form of a Tomioka.
Others had to limit themselves to the mission of new disciples
and a few have thought of their fellowmen first and selflessly
separated from her Tomioka treasure, so that her neighbor would first find salvation.
The purity of the teaching is guarded with sectarian sharpness.
Lead saying in forums: "Only where Tomioka is on it is also Tomioka in it"
(But I am glad that one does not have to fear this substance in everyone and everyone).
As always, there are people here who lack the right faith,
but the pursuit of ultimate perfection and wishful thinking
take advantage of the poor misguided and help in their own way, the faith
to spread, or the price for miraculous relics to astronomical heights to drive.
You can console yourself with it:
The Yashica is good, the Tomioka sure too, and the newly-conceived bad
Cosina version Revue / Porst 1,2 / 55mm with K-bayonet also not be.
Nothing forces a clearly thinking person to believe in 2007
--that a small manufacturer in the 50s / 60s, the holy grail in the lens construction
has found,
--Never until the beginning of 2000 knew what / noticed
--and the booming entire photo industry for 20-30 years nothing (except the "Noctilux effect")
what could sting the Holy Tomioka Grail.
That it "fits" with its M42 thread on some DSLRs, of course, certainly not
Reason to buy a Tomioka for 300 (or 600) Euros,
Since I accuse both Tomiokanern contradictions and nonsensical allegations / "evidence",
I also offer a few original quotes below as proof of source for those who
who have no desire / time to read everything directly on their page.

It was all being said - don't trust this silly pseudo-hype which is still haunting the Internet !
