I had quite forgotten about this little beauty as it's been tucked behind a large number of Yashica rangefinders...a 1950s vintage and still works.
The original Yashica 35.
Yashica 35 with case
It's time to pop some more film inside it and get snapping.

That looks familiar... :) Mine's still working, and I just got a working YME-35 meter - but - with a max shutter speed of 1/300th, I don't think I have any film slow enough to use without trying to find some ND filters to pop on first. I wonder if anyone even makes them in the right thread size.

Hi lumiworx,
I use a Contax 46mm P-filter on mine. However, there are plenty of 46mm ND filter sets out there and Hoya makes a nice set of three filters including a ND.

My oldest is the YF, of which I now have two. The first one has many problems, not the least of which someone tried to fix it at one time, and basically ruined it. I did some work to be able to run a couple of rolls through it (repaired the shutter curtain that had been fingered; replaced the missing spool support; cleaned the Canon 50/1.8 that came with it), but I couldn't get the top off because of a busted set screw on the shutter speed dial.
It also has a bad jamming fault in the film transport. I got a second one which came with a Yashica 50/2.8, and was ready to use it one day shortly after it arrived when a shutter curtain broke loose. But some day I'll have it repaired.

Those YFs appear on Ebay from time to time but they command a very high price; well done on grabbing two even if they do have a few issues. And as for the cost of Yashica's M39 lenses, a mortgage is needed...

I did goof on the fastest speed as 1/300 when it's actually 1/500, so that offers a few more film choices beyond the filters. I grabbed a set of the Hoya's as an 'open box' item anyway, so that I can do a proper test one way or the other.

The oldest Yashica I have is the Electro 35 (late 60s) followed by the TL Electo-X ITS and a MAT from the early 70s.

Hi ariel,
Now that's what I call a really nice set of classic Yashica gear! Hello, yes, it is a nice set but I do not use them as often as they deserve, need to work on that. BTW, I like your Yashica 35, the shape of the body and looks reminds me the Contax II. Is the hole on the front a connector or the self-timer?

Hi ariel,
It's a connector for the flash.
