What did you Guys made as for bargains?
1) I bought a 2nd copy of my Yashica ML 50/F2 for 10 EUR, incl. the Lens Case (not Original Yashica, but from Carl Zeiss Jena, also a B+W UV Filter was incl, and original Lens Caps. Its like mint.
2) From the same Seller, i've bought a Ricoh CX1 Travelcam, it's one of my very few ones without RAW, but it does have a optical stabilized Zoom, and 28-200 Zoom Range, not bad for a 10year old Minisensor (1/2.33") camera...it does have 9 MP, and i paid 9 EUR for it with battery and charger. Its because, i don't owned a very small cam before, as travelzoom...better that little Ricoh, than no picture at all, i've thought. My Smartphone cam doesn't have Zoom. But it does have optical IS, and the digital level onto the display comes into handy, LCD is 920k, so a good one.

Well, about 10 years ago my first Zeiss 50mm f/1.7 cost £15 from a Charity shop, then my ML 21mm cost £40 off eBay. More recently a 55/1.2ML for just over £100, but it seems to be getting tough to find real, stand-up bargains these days.

In terms of local bargains at charity/thrift stores or garage/boot sales, or anything similar where advertising specific items usual doesn't occur... I'd think they will always show up once in awhile, but you'll likely need to visit these places on a regular basis to find them. On-line finds at auction or 'vintage' sites are difficult to find for quick purchase if they're described well enough to be found with a casual search. I've had to learn how to dig and spend time to find the gems in the rock piles by inspecting crappy photos to read blurry name rings, or pouring through the volumes of text people insist on adding, just to find a hint. There's also the 'mistakes' listings where I find most of the good stuff that's overlooked, or people make assumptions or just don't ask the seller a question. They include the items that are commonly misspelled, or where the 'punctuation' is wrong (i.e., 1:2 instead of 1.2). A few bargain finds via ebay... Yashica ML 28-50mm: Listed as a "yashika camera w/50mm zoom and flash". Pictures showed a blurry front element with a small white blob. It came from a New Jersey seller, and the white sea foam crud from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy was all over the CS-230 flash, FR-1 and it's winder (all ruined beyond repair). The lens only needed a quick dissolve to clean off it's goop, but otherwise it's in perfect condition. Cost, with shipping: $37 Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 35-70mm: An auction, listed as "RTS Black Body Only". There were 6 or so photos of a sad RTS with badly peeling cover, but every photo showed the 35-70mm lens. I messaged the seller and asked the obvious, and was told that yes, the lens was included. It was in near mint condition, and has absolutely perfect optics. I replaced the cover on the fully working RTS II.Cost, with shipping: $155 Zeiss Tele-Tessar AEG 300mm: Listed as a BIN for $145. According to the seller, it was supposed to be an auction item, but was incorrectly saved. He wasn't happy, but honored the sale. Not 'Yashica' related, but... An auction listing with an Optar 135mm f/4.7 on a 1949 Graflex Speed Graphic 4x5 Press Camera, w/ Stroboflash: Included as part of a group of 17 items as a "Kalart camera". It was closed and only barely visible in one of several 'wide shots'. Required a massive amount of cleanup. It was fully working - except the shutter (now replaced). Cost for all items (including a Polaroid 95B and flash), with shipping: $37

You're right, nowadays it's way hard to make steals like that - and because too many people do know, about these old gems, and their qualities...and many, myself even included, love more 3D Pop, character rendering of a lens, than just a clinical sharp lens, or testchart...that gives me nothing....
