Does anyone have picture samples from a Yashica ML 70-210 F4.5 lens or can comment on the image quality from this lens?
I am trying to decide between a 70-210 or 80-200 and am primarily concerned with image quality. Although I realize they aren't even comparable. The 80-200 is slightly faster, a 2.5x zoom instead of 3x and they cover different focal lengths. However, I am trying to pick the better performer if possible.

Good evening. Both of them have a good iq, in my opinion. 80-200 is heavier, very good performer, best at 200mm, almost no difference compared with prime 200mm. And is faster, f4. 70-210 is lighter, more easy to handle and is good performer to. So, heavy and faster versus lighter and more versatile..... you decide.

Dragos, Thank you for the reply and input. I ended up picking up a 80-200mm. The deciding factor for me was it was faster (F4) and the next stop was 5.6. The lowest for the 70-210 was 4.5 and the next stop was 8. I took some test pictures with the 80-200 and it's a great performer. I am getting very nice colors and sharp pictures from it. It does, however, suffer from CA wide open, but for the price I paid for it I am very happy.

There is also the 70-210 f4 ML version, but extreme rare and expensive.

Thanks for the input. I have read through the forum and found the 70-210 F4 ML. It is on my list of lenses I want to acquire. However, from my understanding it is so rare that will not happen for years if I even find one at all. So in the meantime I needed to get either the 80-200 F4 or 70-210 F4.5. For the price I paid for the 80-200 I am very happy with it. The colors and details from that zoom are spectacular with the only downside being the chromatic aberration, but that only happens in difficult shots and to be honest I can live with it and fix it in PP. I can post sample pictures if anyone is interested. However, I don't have a 70-210 to compare it with and the pictures will probably be boring.

The ML 80-200/F4 is a nice performer. Back into the Yashica ML/Contax Zeiss Lenses time, Lenses have been optimized for 3D Pop, and true-to-life Look, not like nowadays, 100% sharp, into the Corners at (already) open aperture...i don't mind stopping down my lens(es) for good corner sharpness at F8 to F11...or even more. I don't like lenses that render perfect (well, technically) pictures, but they do look flat and only 2D like...not 3D. :~)
