I bought a used Yashica HALF 14 -- many years ago. Half-frame with a 32mm, focusing (of course) Yashinon-DX f1.4 lens. It has a CDS meter and auto programmed-exposure, with manual settings of the f-stop at 1/30 for flash use. It was in mint cosmetic condition, but due to a corroded battery chamber, it would not work. So it sat on the shelf for years. Last week, I rediscovered it, but despite my cleaning efforts, it would not work -- even with a good battery.
I knew it was unusual/rare and I sold it on EBAY for $100. The buyer was able to get it to work -- somehow -- and, of course, is thrilled.
So it was a WIN-WIN, but I would have liked to have been able to use it.
It's not too late for a New Year's Resolution! Is it time to clean out your Yashica closet? There might be a treasure lurking in there!

The buyer most likely opened it up, and replaced the wire lead from the battery chamber. The corrosion tends to ravel right up the wire, and you can't see it for the insulation.
