Very nice condition! Thank you for sharing your lens with us.
You have the final version of the Super Yashinon-DX and it was not supplied with a hood according to the catalogue so your lens is complete. It will be very interesting to see some images taken through it.

Now could this be a Tomioka made lens? Like the 60mm Macro? I can see similarities in design... I'm very curious too :-) When I find the time ( and a quiet moment ) I run some film through my, ahum, Chinon CE Memotron ....... The Yas Electro hasn't arrived yet. Compared to that Chinon this is a small lens....

Those are some real nice photos. But what's the exact differance between this lens and the Yashica super Yashinon-R 13,5cm ?

Those are some real nice photos. But what's the exact differance between this lens and the Yashica super Yashinon-R 13,5cm ? The preset aperture mechanisms are slightly different although the operation is near identical; on the -R lens, the aperture settings are not marked on the second ring that is used to close the aperture for photo-taking or checking depth of field. Also, the original Super Yashinon-R range for the M42 is based on the one for the Pentamatic and has a simple, single coating but the DX lenses have a more complex 2-colour coating, albeit it is still technically a single-coating in that it is coated in a single pass. Other than that, I've no idea as to any differences as I posses neither lens.

A 3,5 R version also exists...
I haven't tried my DX yet and I do not own a R either....

It is a ridiculous price - especially for a lens of that quality. A single coated wide-angle is often going to have problems with flare and contrast when being used against intense light sources - this one is no exception. At that price, all one can assume is the seller doesn't really want to sell it...

well I'll kick here in instead of starting a new post. For Yash lenses experts, there is this pre-set model too, called Super (of course!) Yashinon-DX, an image of the lens is here lens-db.com/yashica-super-yashinon-dx-135mm-f28/ Its still a pre-set lens, however from the build it looks like more native Yash lens than the previous *-R model what is more like made by Sankor. So my question: anyone experience with this preset *-DX 135/2.8 ? Does it falls in std Yashinon lens quality(how the glass behaves aka 'render') or not ... or something even else ? CHeers
