Hope to hear some judgement before I buy this M42 lens.
Ah, sorry for that.. It's a SUPER dx 135mm 2,8....
So older than a straight DX.. I presume...

The short answer is that we don't know this lens. All I can tell you from the photos is that is a preset lens but the only similar lens listed is the Super Yashinon-R 1.35cm f2.8 and that had a Pentamatic mount. It does not appear on any Yashica lens list that I have although there are a few images on the web.
We'll need to add it to our list - I'll check back on my camera manuals for the early M42 bodies and see if I can find a reference to it; it would be helpful to work out its place in the Yashica lens history if we can find its optical configuration but it may be a limited run of the Pentamatic lens in the new M42 mount prior to the arrival of the dedicated Yashikor lenses.
EDIT
I have been able to find a couple of old manuals from the early 1960s which introduce the DX designation and Yashica makes a point of stating in bold on the cover that these have M42 mounts so we're in the era of the changeover from Pentamatic bayonets. Your Super Yashinon-DX is a classic 5/4 formula and is identical to the Auto Yashinon DX except that it has the preset mechanism which reduces its weight by 83g to 417g. If you check out reviews of the Auto Yashinon-DX 135 2.8, you'll know the optical quality of your lens.
In the light of finding the early M42 catalogues and manuals, I have some additional lenses to add to the list which I will do over the coming days.

Bugger :-)
Pre-Set...
Meaning dark finder...... Not easy to focus, unless changing aperture often.
Probably a good lens though, optically.

Even more complicated - there are 2 variations of the Super Yashinon-DX that appear identical. The first was a 5/4 but the later was a 6/5.
Incidentally, preset is not an issue with regards to dark focusing - you simply set the aperture with the main ring and then use the other to open up wide to help focus if needed, then once the lens is focused, return the second ring to its matched aperture setting, take the meter reading and press the shutter. It takes 1 second - it's very simple; I use the Tomioka Yashinon 60mm Macro which is a preset lens and its so quick and simple to use in this manner.

Right I've never used preset lenses, so I'm completely unaware of their functionality. So thanks for instructing me. I guess that's why the aperturering is at the front of the lens... This is the Auto Yashinon DX 135 2,8 --> Nice, if you ask me....

Went out collecting this gem today. It is in near mint condition. The lens has 8 aperture blades, oil free, and all rings turn smoothly. There are some cleaning marks on the frontlens and a hood is missing ( otoh it could be that Yashica provided no hood in the first place ). I believe those cleaning marks are off little influence to the pictures taken....
This is a lens from an era when people recieved a real leather case with there lens purchase. Very nice.
Hope to be able to upload some pictures after dinner.
