I bought this beauty as broken/for parts. This came with the shutter release and viewfinder glass broken. The battery light is working but I guess is hard to fix the shutter since is electronically controlled. Since I have no proper tools for the job I accidentally scratched the inner lens ring in my rookie attempt give a push of the lens leafs.

That's just a little ouch. At least you didn't ding the lens.

just take something made of rubber. I've opened mine with a sink plug pressed against the ring and turning counterclockwise. One might think that the proper tool would be a spanner but the little marks where you put your screwdriver in are just too small to even let a spanner tool fit them. So the proper tool would be just a frictioning piece of rubber.
The rest can be easily accessed with a small phillips screwdriver.

The shutter ought to operate mechanically at 1/500sec even without batteries, so I'm not quite sure what you intend to accomplish by dismounting the lens. Anyway, I was pretty excited to find that there's a repair manual to be had on the web: Repair Manual Electro 35I hope you'll find all the info you need to get the job done. It's certainly worth trying as the electros are such fine cameras. regards Michael

You told me of this link yesterday and I am actually reading it. It is an awesome lot of work that went into this extremely detailed document.

You are right, Michael. There is a camera mode when the battery is missing, but even in this mode is not working.
Thanks for the manual!

[…] but even in this mode is not working. Did you try to flush the shutter blades with lighter fluid? This helped with mine. It did not work at first. I cleaned the shutter maybe 100 times (one drop lighter fluid, then wipe of with a microfibre).
