Rummaging through various boxes following my home move, I found in one of them a small box containing about a dozen camera backs one of which was a Yashica DA-1. I remembered that I'd ignored it as I didn't have the Yashica Dental Eye for which it was intended and I never used the only 107MP I owned; also its previous owner had left the CR2025 battery in situ and the tiny terminals were corroded.
So, I ordered a tube of BARE electric paint and after carefully scraping off the green corrosion, applied the black paint and left it overnight. This evening I popped in a new battery and to my surprise, the LCD worked; all too often the corrosion has affected the circuitry inside an item, rendering it useless so I was not expecting it to work, just hoping...
However, it has forced me to finally pop a film into the 107MP and prepare to take some data-stamped photos. Sadly, this data-back is really only a date-back; when you compare it with Contax backs like the D-7, D-8, D-9 and D-10 it has a very limited functionality as they can all be used as highly sophisticated intervalometers and remote timers. But never mind, it makes my 107MP a bit more sexy for the next 3 years and 6 months, as it will only record dates up to 2019; evidently Yashica's programmers weren't expecting such longevity but 39 years isn't bad...

I think most of the original digital watches only went to 1999, so you got some bonus time there.
