These lenses have a 55mm thread for attachment to a Yashica rangefinder. and provide a different focal length when attached.
It's been written that these extender lenses have poor optical quality and that they should not be used wide open. Neither assertion is true. They are sharp, do not change the exposure, and do not add more vignetting.
The truth is that the focus distance must be adjusted when these lenses are attached. The new distance for the tele extender is .77 of what was measured, and the adjustment factor is 1.19 for the wide extender. These factors are inversely proportional to the new focal length of the system. Unfortunately the look up tables on the extender lenses are just rubbish.

just today found a set of these lens while packing for my move to a new house. I don't remember when or where I got them and have never used them. The info that you gave here will help when I do use them , probably early this spring.
Thanks

Here is something decent from my old Yashica and the tele extender. It is reasonably sharp in the background despite the problems of my old Yashica. I was using custom color curves in RawTherapee here to get acceptable color rendition from the Wolverine Data negative converter - working from Fujifilm 200. This is on the campus of the VA hospital outside of Battle Creek.

The sets that are hard to find are the ones for the MG-1, and the GX.
