Just checking out the operations on a “new to me” camera. I used the Program feature for one shot, then went manual for the rest of the roll of Kodak Ektar 100. The meter was consistently a half stop off, unless the camera was pointed in the opposite direction the light was coming from. The closer one pointed to a light source, the more it over exposed. It was never more than two stops though, so very manageable in post. See all 27 photos and commentary at the link after these sample photos. FX-103 waas my first Yashica and that was the begining of this love and now i am stuck on collecting MLlenses. It is, in my opinion the best Yashica camera, with some features uniquest at his time and still a very viable camera. On aperture priority is acting super, exposures are perfect. Don't hesitate to use the unique HP mode.

Beautiful color from that Ektar film. My favorite sunny day film.

Thank you. ....and i am gald to see on your profile 'October 30', samhe here I had an uncle and a neighbor with the same date. Used to have a lot of Halloween themed cakes when I was younger, so one year I asked for a pumpkin pie instead. My Mom made Jack O'Lantern cut-outs from the dough to support the candles. PF

Beautiful color from that Ektar film. My favorite sunny day film. I'm not really all that fond of it, Mike. It doesn't seem to have much latitude (all these photos were fixed in PSE 10). My latest favorite was Kodak ProFoto XL 100, but I can't get it anymore. Used the last roll on the 611 shoot. PF

My Signet 50 does wonderful things with Ektar, colors just pop with it. And I liked the recent results from my Super Memar. There is a seller on eBay, nikkamera, I think, that used to sell 12 exposure rolls of no-name 100 ASA film for a dollar a roll. It was probably Ferrania Solaris. I thought that it was wonderful stuff, except I always forgot that it was only 12 exposures when I had it in the camera. But fresh color film in 100 ASA keeps getting rarer and rarer, I actually wish that I could find some color film that was even slower.

FX 103 is on my collection, superb camera in my opinion. I have a question about program mode..on this camera all ML lenses work properly on program mode whitout modifications. Why on contax (159 and Others), for program mode they created MM lenses? Why they did not adopted the same fx-103 system?
