Sometimes it does pay, after all, to be 'sitting on the dock of the bay' with a fishing rod on a Friday evening... Just pulled this wonderful YK off the hook... With Christmas on the doorstep and all, I wasn't prepared to fork out a whole lot of money, so I bid a modest sum of 40 euros shortly before the auction ended, half expecting the price to go up considerably in the final split seconds. Much to my surprise, I got this gem for 30 euros, and that's including postage from the Netherlands. Of course I won't jump for joy before I actually have the camera, but the seller seems respectable enough. Says the YK is in perfect order except that the winding lever is slow to return and must be pushed back after winding. I could surely live with that... Edit: I just saw on flickr that Greyscale once got a YK for $0.01 ... Michael

Well, I didn't get mine as cheaply as Mike did, but it wasn't a bad price. Only problem with it is the rangefinder patch is very weak, as the beam splitter has deteriorated. Almost impossible to focus without checking the scale. I might see if one out of a junk MG will fit. They are lovely cameras, Michael, and if yours is in good knick you should be able to have a good time with it.

Same to you, thank you, Adrian, and to all of you other Yashicans, Yashicaners or Yashicanos out there! Have a merry, peaceful Christmas and may you enjoy the one blessing still more precious than cameras - TIME to use them! Michael

Phil, how do you adjust vertical on the YK rangefinder?

Never mind, I found the adjustment under the accessory shoe.

Never mind, I found the adjustment under the accessory shoe. That would have been my guess. Fairly common hiding spot for Yashica. And Here's hoping for a safe, and wonderful holiday season to everyone! PF
