...a Contax S2. Rather a rare bird--and a fully mechanical one! (Bit dusty though...) cu Michael

Hi Michael, thanks for re-joining our community. Wow! Congratulation on your find, this camera look like new. Wipe off the dust, and it is. Just one roll of film went through it, so the seller in Athens, Greece, assured me. I know one has to be careful with that "new old stock" stuff, but it seems I was lucky. The shutter started working smoothly after a couple of dry runs and even damper and light seals still seem to be fine. That little thingy wasn't cheap, either. Small wonder if there were only 6,000 copies made of it... BTW, thank you so much for resurrecting our Yashica forum, Adrian. I greatly appreciate this! regards Michael

Nice one, Michael, and with a very nice lens as well. I have long lusted after the S2. Oh, I've had the Planar 1.4 for quite some time already, Mike. I doubt very much if I could have afforded the camera plus this lens. BTW, thanks a lot to you as well for helping Adrian get this forum back on its feet again! The world would be darn poor without idealists like you! cheers Michael

Hi Michael, the S2 was and still is a very nice camera. We had a demo one in the shop that I worked in, how I wanted to buy it when we dropped Contax brand but sadly it was still way out of my price range even when sold at cost.
PS. Really pleased to see some of the old names getting back together on a new Yashica forum, well done gents.

Aye, a great looking camera she is, Michael. I guess all your Zeiss lenses will now get a decent workout.

Aye, a great looking camera she is, Michael. I guess all your Zeiss lenses will now get a decent workout. PF Actually, it's a Tokina 2.8/135 that I want to test next (I just gave it a thorough cleaning as the blades were stuck). Judging by the few shots I took with this lens before the aperture started malfunctioning, I suspect it belongs to the underrated ones. But, to be honest, there are at least half a dozen projects I have on my agenda, yet I just don't find the time right now to start even only one of them... Michael

Hey guys, lovely to see people still using these great cameras. I have recently re-acquired a S2b (prefer the average metering) and have bought another RTS Fundus - probably one of my all-time favourite cameras. I also bagged a few lenses to try on them including the ML 100 f3.5 - can't wait.
