I thought I'd exhausted my hunt for Yashica P&S models (I'm permanently ignoring their APS cameras as they're unusable) and was popping a fresh, test film through the J-Motor when it dawned that the AF-J was missing. So, here it is... Yashica AF-J(I apologise for the shallow dof but I was trying out a new prime lens) There's not a lot to say about the model which dates from 1987 - the 32mm f3.5 lens is lovely and sharp; metering is accurate, the optical viewfinder is bright, and the AF is quick. However, it does have one very useful addition to the typical specs of such cameras: a flash override. When use of a flash is indicated by the camera's auto exposure system, a small button pops up on the top plate, close to the shutter switch. By pressing it down while shooting, the flash is suppressed, giving you back a degree of control. Very useful. My only criticism of this camera - and the J-Motor - is that it's pretty noisy but that's a small price to pay for the fine quality of images it can produce.
