OK, I have no explanation for this Yashica-branded item: the Yashica Rolling Ruler. Rolling Ruler by YashicaIt's a very capable instrument but unfortunately it arrived without its original packaging and so I can't be sure of its provenance. From the accompanying papers, it looks like it was produced more than a decade ago but I can't be more precise. The company which was marketing it in Europe ceased trading in 2008. By sheer coincidence, I have some technical drawings to produce so I will put this to the test but, giving it a cursory glance, it seems to do what one would expect of it. There's not much more to say really - other than why on earth would it be Yashica-branded?

Because the owners of the name sold a license to put it there. I've got one of these, but it has a different branding on it, "Supa Roller Ruler". It comes in handy when drawing repeating lines.
