It was a pretty windy day today but I decided to try my luck with this old Tomioka-made fast lens. Tomioka Auto Revuenon 55 f1.2It shows that it can still deliver decent photos. I had added a 2 inch (5cm) hood to boost contrast and I'm sure it helped. The shallow dof certainly helps to isolate the berries from the background and I was pleasantly surprised that the bokeh was quite soft and unobtrusive despite the complex shapes of thousands of leaves behind the subject. I will try to arrange a comparison between this lens and the Tomioka Yashinon DS-M version.
