Anyone familiar with the genesis of Yashica's entry into mainstream photographic production will know the Zunow marque; it is particularly associated with some of the early Yashica cine cameras.
However, in its heyday, Zunow made a variety of lenses including ones for 35mm photography. I have today seen on Ebay a lens that is new to me: a Zunow 50mm f1.1 for the M39 mount (Ebay item:354110862088).
It is undoubtedly very rare and offers an amazing specification too. The Buy It Now price is a paltry £29,000 ($35,100 or Euros 33,650) - ouch! In fact, there's another lens of the same specification, made for a Nikon rangefinder, with a slightly more reasonable price of £8,740, interestingly from a seller that I usually associate with unrealistically high prices for Contax gear. Suddenly, the price I paid for the Zeiss 55 f1.2 a few years ago seems like almost nothing...
