Woo-Hoo! My two-fer package arrived today with the aforementioned cameras in it. Had to clean a little green out of the battery compartment on the 108, but it's working now. Came with the ML 1.9/50, a front cap, and the strap with the viewfinder blocking (for long exposures).
The 300 on the other hand takes the 2CR5 battery, which I'm flat out of at the moment, so I can't check the operation tonight. However, it came with the Yashica AF Power Zoom 3.5-4.5/28-70, which has it's own set of issues.
It's got that chemical bleed in the grip rings for manual focusing and zoom. I cleaned a section of the focus ring, and it came off leaving a nice clean surface behind. What I'm afraid of is taking the meter and feet markings off the lens as I continue cleaning all the way around the ring. Anyone have any experience dealing with this? I'm thinking I can very carefully clean between the numbers, as wiping across them with a swab will just drag the bleed all over the markings, obliterating them, or even worse, wipe them off the ring also.
Hope to get the 108 tested soon.

Well, I couldn't wait, so I very carefully tested cleaning around the first set of meter markings, and there was no problem. The lens is now cleaned up, and all I have to do is get a battery for the camera to test it.

Can't say anything about the 300AF--but congratulations on the 108MP, Phil. Good thing too it came with a fast ML prime instead of the crappy MC 35-70mm zoom it was usually sold with. Despite its somewhat cheap look and feel, I'm sure you will find the 108 to be a fine, reliable camera. I had mine for more than twenty years, not even knowing it was a Yashica as it was relabeled as Revue AC8. Revue AC8 aka Yashica 108MP I especially appreciated the fact that it provides the 1/2000sec, its impeccable light metering and the economical use it makes of its four AAA batteries (possibly due to the fact that re-winding is not motorized). All in all, the 108MP is arguably one of the most underrated Yashicas. Have fun with it! Michael

Thanks, Michael. I liked the feel of the 108 as soon as I un-boxed it. And you're right about that 1.9/50. I was very pleased to see it wasn't all messed up like the last one I got. The only thing I can say about the 300AF is it's big! I hope the lens isn't noisy.

Not really test photos, more like "Thank goodness the camera actually worked!" photos. I was just going to test the 108 MP, and loaded a roll of Kodak Gold 100 in it. I then set off in search of appropriate subject matter for a test, but remembered they moved the Boones Mill Depot while I away, and I wanted some shots of it in its new location. Below are after and before photos, the before taken with an Olympus Stylus Epic (mju II) over a year ago. The new photos were taken with a Tamron Adaptal-2 28-70mm zoom. Michael, I love my 35-70mm, in the winter I got superb photos with this lens. Is not on the Zeiss league but if you love them, they love you back :>

Yeah, I guess I didn't love it enough... But seriously, Adrian, this lens is abominably slow--given its very modest zoom range--and in terms of sharpness I find it's nowhere near even a Tokina of its day and age. The way I see it--if you have a camera that can do 1/2000sec, what you want first and foremost is a fast lens that enables you to do some DOF tricks. Just my personal 50c though, needless to say... Michael, you are right! But that's why this lens is cheap
