It has taken a long time to find a working, sensibly priced version of the Electro 35 CCN camera but at last one is here.... Electro 35 CCN WideThis has always been a favourite with its wider-angle lens of 35mm, instead of 45mm, at a f1.8 maximum aperture which is little different from the f1.7 aperture on the 45mm. The change of lens type is reflected in the italicised ' WIDE' logo on the front. However, despite being manufactured over a 5 year period, they are not as common as some of the other Electro 35 models. The lens has a great reputation. The only issue, as with many cameras from this era, is finding a replacement battery - the CCN Wide uses a 5.6v for its metering. I have read about people using 4 1.5v cells to good effect, better than trying a single 6v 4LR44 battery.

I'm not sure regarding the battery, IIRC the manual for my 35CC said a 6v battery. Not having it the manual to hand, I checked the download from Butkus confirms this too, either a 544 or PX28N.

Just insert an ordinary 4LR44.

There's also a page on camera-Wki that says it's a P28 too, so that means that the 'can size' and voltage would be the same as the 4LR44... but the better alternative might be to use a 4SR44, so that you'd get the more straight-line performance of silver oxide instead of the sloping output of an alkaline.
