This was among the final offerings from Kyocera of a Yashica movie-camera, the Yashica KX-95 Hi-8 Video Camera from 1992. KX-95 Video CameraI'm in the process of getting hold of a charger and operating manual; it came with a battery but it was probably the original one as after about 5 minutes it ran out of steam. I will report on this model once I have it running again; looking at the many options provided by the various buttons and dials plus the Yashica 10x zoom lens, it seems a pretty sophisticated camera.

Welcome to the Forum deadbirdparty ... This one is branded as a Yashica, but the base camera is made by Sony and branches from their CCD-TR line. It's similar to others discussed in this previous topic thread. It uses Hi8 video tapes that come from Sony's proprietary 8mm tape format. I'm in the process of getting hold of a charger and operating manual; it came with a battery but it was probably the original one as after about 5 minutes it ran out of steam. I suspect it uses the same Kyocera AC-1700 battery charger as my Samurai version. There are several OEM and 3rd party branded models of the Sony branded original too, so finding compatibility to the battery's connector is the only limiter in finding something usable. There's a dead Samurai Video8 on ebay.de classifieds that has the charger and extra cables for 20 Euro. As for user manuals, it will probably be easier to search for those based on some of the Sony CCD-TR models and find a match.... here's 20 of them as a start : www.manualslib.com/s/sony+ccd-tr.html

Hi deadbirdparty as lumiworx has said, welcome to the Forum! I bought a copy of the original manual for my camera from here: www.camera-manual.com/yashica-kx-95-e-manual-13109 They have a comprehensive range of manuals available; the only limitation is that they don't offer colour printing. I don't know where in the world you are but this manual applies to the European version of the camera; however, the overall controls are identical so it should not present a problem. lumiworx suggestion to get hold of the Sony manuals is an excellent one as they can often be found for free online and the operating system is common to both Sony and Yashica-branded models. I won't be getting my KX-95 kit out of storage until April so I can't help much until then; hopefully, you'll have got it working long before that! Do please keep us apprised of your progress and, of course, feel free to ask further questions....
