It seems not many of these travelled to Europe in the early 1960s - the Pentamatic S. Yashica Pentamatic SThis was the final fling for the Pentamatic and even as it was being sold, the new M42 mount Penta J was already available. Indeed, in the US it was still being sold alongside the J-3 in late 1962. This came from a UK owner, complete with a couple of lenses. Attached is one of the standard 6-bladed 5.5cm f1.8 Auto Yashinon lenses, which are pretty good pieces of glass.

Hey, I've got one. No. 141361, with lens No. 60517917. PF That's great - do you still use it? Your camera was evidently made in April 1961 and was the 1361st out of the total production of 3167 Pentamatic S cameras. A further 5.5cm f1.8 lens has also arrived - a kindly donation - but it's in bits so I will finally get to look inside one. I'm less confident about re-building it although the entire section with the optics is intact so hopefully re-collimating may not be a problem...

Apparently I never tested this camera/lens combo, something else I've neglected to get around to.

I do not know if the camera is good or not, but I like the shutter button on the front, it was very common at some point in the past, but later moved to the top plate to an unnatural position for the hand. Any similarities with the Spotmatic is pure coincidence.
