I'm still in the process of scanning more of the paper goods that came with the Electro 35 Gold Kit box and accessories, and I'm trying to sort out the good and the bad info I may have on what constitutes an Electro 35 "Gold" camera and their kits. There are several of the cameras and kits over the years, but the only place the actual terms about Gold 'xyz' seems to turn up is with the documents, and never on a camera, or even the kit cases that I have, or remember seeing.
One set of the panels on a massive foldout from the kit that prominently mentions Gold Mecanica...
I have an original Electro 35, a "G", a GSN, and a GTN, and aside from the gold-colored 'G' logo on the left-front of their body, there's nothing to distinguish any of the G models as a "Gold" or "Gold Mecanica" on the body itself. Are there any characteristics that differ that can visually identify what makes a 'Gold' camera, Gold? My list only has references to Gold or Gold Mecanica cameras, as:
I don't have references for whether the all-black GTN is actually considered a 'gold' anything (I assume it is), and have nothing on the dates and contents included with any of the gold kits... aside from the contents of the 1st version from 1968 that I'm going through now. I'm obviously missing stuff for data (and the correct spelling of "Mecanica"), and now I'm trying to wrap my head around what was different from G cameras, to Gold or Gold Kit cameras, to Gold Mecanica cameras, other than the model or kit titles alone. The two warranty cards on the above kit specifies that they include an "Electro-35-Gold-Kit" and an "Electro-35-Gold" camera.
Can anyone help fill in the blanks a bit?
