Hello, just found this camera while browsing Ebay and was surprised by the model's name: Ninja Star Based on camera-wiki, the model name in Japan was " Kyocera Campus Tele" but for the US market was " Yashica DF-100" or " Yashica Ninja Star Tele Wide". Sorry, but I cannot avoid to laugh about the crazy name... Ninja Star?!

Fascinating find.
Of course the Ninja Star is a direct reference to a phenomenon on certain C/Y Zeiss AE lenses between f2 and f2.8. Some people deliberately shoot at these apertures on lenses like the AE 85mm f1.4 because they like the Ninja Star oof highlights.

Thanks for the clarification, now I see from where the Ninja Star reference is coming, but... what has to do with a compact AF camera?... It would make much more sense to use the name on one of the oof-highlights capable lenses other than on this compact AF. At least I hope it worked as a marketing maneuver to bring people´s attention to a camera with such a name.
