I'm new to the forum - apologies if my questions has already been covered. Couldn't find anything from search though.
I have come up into the conclusion, that the FX-3 is the most perfect camera ever made. Or perfect for me at least :-) I own a well used copy of the original series. It works just fine as-is. As with all contemporary Yashicas, letherette is dead and under replacement at the moment. So, as body is naked, I would have an access to internals and would like to do some maintenance. Also, speed dial is bit stiff, and would be great to see if something can be done.
I do have a Repair manual, but it says nothing about CLA ... no idea what points should be lubricated and what kind of lubricate should be used. We can have extreme temperatures in Finland - currently -22F. Cold weather is the main reason I'm slanted to mechanical gear - and FX-3 has been doing just fine. Any ideas where to look at for instructions?
(Sorry for language - not native as is obvious to all)

Hello niblak, and welcome to the forum... I think there are more than a few users who might agree with your assessment on the FX-3, and certainly on it's Contax sibling, the S2. I'm unsure if there's anything comprehensive in written form to list out a CLA process - unless there's some teaching info from repair schools someone's posted somewhere - so you might need to search for model specific details on YouTube to find any step-by-step procedures. As for types of materials to use, the only one-stop place I can think of for oil/grease and camera related tool resources might be Japan Hobby Tool ( japanhobbytool.com). They sell on eBay and Amazon too, so depending on shipping and VAT/tariff costs, those might be better shopping options. There is an assembly manual available through the forum, in addition to the repair manual, both linked here: yashica.boards.net/thread/1296/contax-yashica-repair-assembly-manualsThe assembly manual won't have any instructions at all, but should provide some exploded views to trace the mechanical linkages from part to part.

Hi, thank you very much for comments and advice.
I end up removing all cover plates and just made some very gentle cleaning. Accessible mechanism looked dry and as many parts are plastic, I couldn't figure out how and what to lubricate. So, "don't fix anything that is not broken"
With new letherette ... It looks great.
Gone shooting! //J
