Good day I took over the Yashica FX-2 after my grandfather died. I just don't really know much about analog cameras and it doesn't work. Not even after I got a new battery and film etc. Maybe someone could help me, I'm overwhelmed 😅

Starting on page 10 is a step-by-step guide, so if there's any failures as you go through it, I'm sure someone here can offer some help and perhaps diagnose what possible fixes there might be.
The FX-2 is a sturdy camera body, and of several I've acquired through the years, they tend to stay mechanically functional for vintage gear. The issue usually revolves around the battery and in getting a functioning meter to set exposures in-camera. The original 1.3 volt Mercury batteries that were meant to power the meters have long been discontinued, so replacing them is a compromise with what is currently available. You might find that the closest ones that would give power at a correct voltage might be hearing aid batteries that are Zinc-air types, but they aren't an exact match.
Remember that you can use the ' Sunny 16' method or use an external meter if the internal one isn't functioning, or even a metering app on your phone, assuming it has a light sensor in it's camera array. Let us know how your doing.

Could you kindly add some detail to your comment that 'it doesn't work'? Do you mean the wind-on lever can't be moved; the mirror's stuck in the up position; the shutter blinds are damaged, etc.,.? It would be very helpful if you could explain why you think it's broken - that might give us a better chance to diagnose the problem(s).
