Hello Friends,
this might be a silly question - but is really true, i am asking myself (after instant-ly) yesterday as an impulse-buy got myself a cute Yashica Electro 35 GS (1st Gen of the GS, with silver plate backside into the "battery check" design) I couldn't resist the price, and the seller put it even cheaper back onto the list today again, so it was a bargain. Hope it works, and doesn't suffer from the POD (Pad of Death) syndrome.
I am shy, that i could damage the single coated "Color Yashinon DX 45mm F1.7 lens with the hand sanatizer fluid. Ordinary, i just get some breath onto it, then use a microfiber cloth to wipe it carefully clean.
Usually, all day back to the 80's, i always use (quality) UV Filters, or Skylight, or MC Lens protectors, to protect my front lens element from dust, pollen, smear, sand, fingerprints, etc.
Greetings, a fine week.

Congratulations on your purchase! For general front element cleaning, I tend to use either Zeiss Lens Wipes or calocoat, which is an optical lens cleaning spray, and a microfibre cloth.

Thanks Graham, i do like the Electro 35 series, Yashica produced ca. 8 Million into 5 interations, silver & black color, between 1966 to 1977, so for around 11 years. I never had the silver one, only the black GT & GTN, but this time, the 35 GS, not GSN, but it's okay...i don't need the hotshoe. It had 19 watchers, and i've thought last night...mhm, what gives?! It's asking price was too good to let it go...i sold my black GT into 2019, and i do like the lens and it's ability of rendering images. It's a classic double gauss lens design, 6 elements into 4 groups. PS: The Zeiss wipes are usually expensive, but a good thing to go. I know them for many years, heck my perscription glasses are also genuine Zeiss. Greetings, Marc
