I'm pleased to see a YashicaForum style site up and running again and with active participation. I was on the old YashicaForum site a bit and still use C/Y gear with a particular emphasis on Zeiss glass, which I'm finding works well with my Sony A7r. I also blog at www.contaxian.com

Always a pleasure to welcome a new Member! Glad to see you're also a Contax enthusiast...
I assume you are using the Novoflex adapter to use the C/Y glass on the A7r; it seems to be the only high quality one readily available although there are quite a few for the Contax G- and N- series lenses. I note there's even one for the Yashica AF lenses, so if you can find the 60mm macro, grab it!
I hope you enjoy this site.

I'm actually using a no-name japanese adapter. I may just have been lucky, but it actually works very well for me!

Welcome to the Forum, Barry! I hope to some day step up to the Contax line, but have too many toys right now to take on another camera platform. Maybe after I cull the herd a bit...

PF I had that problem too. A few years back I had an extensive Canon FD collection (see below). I then found a Zeiss 50/1.7 in charity shop for £15. It reminded me of an article I'd read many years ago as a kid just getting into photography where the colours had blown me away - the photographer had used Contax 159 and Zeiss 25, 50 & 85mm lenses, so added a 159MM and I was off. Now that prices are lower (mostly) for the Zeiss glass and I earn a lot more than my paper round paid I decided to go for it... Sold all my Canon FD gear and bought a TS-E 24mm shift lens then used what was left to start buying, selling and trading my way up to the kit I have now. all gone

When I was shooting gymnastics back in the last century, I toyed with switching to the Canon F1 Pellicle, as it could shoot faster than my RTS' 5fps but I couldn't abandon my Zeiss and Yashica glass. About 10 years later, Nikon also tried to persuade me to try adopt their F3HS - the most stupid camera in terms of practicality: c12fps but no bulk back so every 3 sec and you're reloading!! So, I stuck with my Contax/Yashica set-up and still love it; mind you over the years, it's built up a bit...
