Greetings from Canary Islands, Spain! I have a small Yashica ML's collection (the 50mm's 1.4/1.7/1.9/2, also 28mm, 35mm & 55mm f/2.8's and a 200mm f4 C. This morning I've just bought a 35-105mm, so the collection slowly grows G.A.S. never ends. Due my attraction to these lenses I google from time to time searching from yashica information and usually I end here. After some years reading posts in the shadows I felt that now it was the time to say hello (and thanks) to all the people that shares information on this forums. Cheers, David

Welcome to the forum damecla ... Although I've never been there, it's always seemed to me like a great place to be a photographer. I don't think I've ever seen a really bad picture of your home country - at least from the lifestyle, travel, and landscape shots I've seen over the years. Your growing collection of Yashica ML lenses should be a perfect fit for your location, and I can say with almost certainty that GAS is incurable once it's entered the bloodstream, and it's likely to get even worse over time!

Thanks for your welcome! you must come here, best weather in the world Regarding G.A.S. yep, I know a bit about this... 9 Yashica ML's but +60 of other brands (Meyers, Pentacons, Olympus, etc) I've promised myself the 35-105mm (not yet received) will be the last one...

Welcome to the Forum damecla I envy you living in the Canary Islands; beautiful scenery and a lovely climate! The last time I was there was as a teenager back in the winter of 1965 and I lost my camera which I'd wrapped inside a T-shirt on a Lanzarote beach . It was a memorable visit as I got to spend time with the people making a movie: One Million Years BC. How I wished I'd had that camera! I'm delighted to know that we've been of help to you on this little Forum; it's even better to know that you've been bitten by the Yashica bug! The ML 35-105 is a very fine lens and I hope one day you'll find the time to send us a few piccies taken through it. And as for G.A.S, well, it's not a notifiable disease (yet) so our recommendation would be to embrace it - there are plenty of excellent lenses and cameras left to try!
