I stumbled on the following medical setup under ebay's Business & Industrial category quite by accident. Although the system instructions (listing's last image) don't mention camera brands by name, the mounts on each 'camera tube' looks like C/Y to me, and obviously the Yashica 107MP used to record to film has it. It's pretty similar to the M35 and M35W gear that Zeiss sold for the same purposes, but this one is sold by/for Photostar Photographic Systems for fitting to Reichert-Jung medical equipment. There's nothing to infer what camera body would have been included by default, but the system brochure I found seems to offer that multiple adapters are available. I'm not sure if everything was adapted to C/Y -or- if C/Y was adapted to it. Interesting to see just the same.

At long last I've been able to grab a working Zeiss MC 63 Controller for a reasonable price so the Prontor shutter can finally be activated. This is the basic set-up: Contax Zeiss M35W MC63 set-upThe shutter unit is attached to the M35W - a variant of the Contax 137MD which, unlike the many types of Contax CGCMs, has a dark slide to protect the film when mounting the camera body to the Zeiss Prontor Shutter unit. The same set-up applies to using the M35 - a Yashica FR variant although, if a winder is to be employed, a further power source is needed. Zeiss actually describe the unit housing the Prontor shutter as the camera; the M35W camera is in effect merely the film container... Interestingly, even in 1999, Zeiss was selling the Contax 167MT with a special eye-piece cover (cat: 416181-0000-000) and the Aria with the eye-piece cover (cat: 000000-1057-127) as part of their photo-micrographic system. These were for use directly through the microscope's eye-pieces using the cameras to control metering/shutter speeds, thereby obviating the need for external controllers.
