Hi folks,
I've been using VueScan with (Open)SuSE Linux for many years now without encountering any major problems.
However, since my last two VueScan updates I detect a strange and, quite frankly, pretty irritating behavior: Whereas I was used to letting my scanner do its work while checking emails or typing letters on a different virtual desktop, the VueScan window now always grabs the focus after a split second so that I cannot do anything else while scanning.
Before I pester Ed Hamrick with my problem, I thought I might just as well ask you guys if you had any similar issues with VueScan and your operating systems.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Michael

I do not use vuescan and neither workspaces, but first I would check if vuescan has enabled an option like "always on top" and any other option related to focus. If you use KDE, take a look to the the "focus" section in the window behavior settings, here is a link to the documentation showing all the possible settings and their meaning: docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kde-workspace/kcontrol/windowbehaviour/index.html I do not use KDE since version 3.5.10, but as an example, in XFCE there is an option called "activate focus stealing prevention" in the window manager section.

Just found it (I do use XFCE). Thanks, Ariel!
I will check this out when I use VueScan the next time.
