Although I'm not in favour of 'bling', I do love the rich gold of the limited edition Anniversary RTS cameras with their matching 50mm f1.4 Planars, perfectly offset by that beautiful lizard-skin leather (now thankfully banned from use). I'd like to be buried with mine... What, exactly, would you plan on taking pics of after the lid is closed. :) The most beautiful, custom-coloured camera produced by a manufacturer that I have seen was a Mamiya 645 Pro TL in opalescent blue; had I the money, I'd definitely have bought that one. It never ceases to amaze me how companies choose to celebrate milestones. Beyond the traditional black, I never knew these came in 9 different colors, until poking around the web. And, oh my, my, my, they are pricey! $45k for a Pearl White model.

I've seen the Mamiya 645 Pro TL in white, which I find ugly, but I've never seen blue. Maybe I could handle that.

The blue Mamiya is both boxy enough and in the sort of shade which could remind any British reader above a certain age of the Invalid Carriage. My great aunt had mobility problems and used one to get around her village in Scotland.

I wish we could have had a 137MA in the NASA finish; that would have been very elegant. I had to search for it - found an MD called "NASA" look in a silvery optics, which looks very nice.

No wonder Mamiya filed for bankruptcy -- if I recall correctly, it was OSAWA that declared bankruptcy (who owned Mamiya) and it was the largest bankruptcy in Japan -- at that time. I think that the later TAKATA bankruptcy has been greater.

I wish we could have had a 137MA in the NASA finish; that would have been very elegant. I had to search for it - found an MD called "NASA" look in a silvery optics, which looks very nice. I found a completed auction listing for a 137MD NASA model - one of only two such bodies made - that was listed in November 2006 by a seller in Vienna, Austria... www.liveauctioneers.com/item/2668397_562-zeiss-contax-137-md-nasaIt doesn't show the winning bid, but the estimate says, €2,400 - €2,800 . I'd have to think it went for more than that.
