This delightful accessory set arrived recently and is a surprising addition to the range. Yashica made cold shoes that attached via the eyepiece to the top of the pentaprism - a conventional arrangement favoured by many companies. However, this one attaches to the rewind key on the top plate. Accessory Cold ShoeIt is quite a radical change from the conventional shoe and is machined to a very high specification. It is placed over the rewind key, locked into place using the large knurled wheel and kept static by its extended back-plate, I popped it onto a J-4 and it did not create any problem with the wind-on/rewind key. It's gratifying to find a complete set with the little leaflet illustrating how to fit it still in perfect condition.

That's the second one of those I've ever seen. I must have balked at the price of the first one, or I'd have bought it.

First time I see one, I was not aware of such accessory. Did you try it on?. I wonder how strong gets fixed to the body because flash units back then were not small nor lightweight.

I placed a Yashica Quick-lite P-25 on it with no problems and also tried a couple of shoe-mounted light meters.

...It makes a nice combination from the good old 1960s. A very nice looking set, and the cold shoe accessory looks as part of the flash unit, not like something additional. Thanks for the picture.
