Hello Everyone, I have a question about my Yashica Electro GSN 35. When I tried her I noticed that she doesn't work. I opened her and found the white cable loose in the camera. Various other cables also seem to be corroded, but I can understand their routing. Does anyone have any idea where this white cable (https://ibb.co/qdnyd87) belongs to?
Many thanks in advance!
Friendly greetings
Zoid

Hello Zoid.... Welcome to the forum In the repair manual section, there's a link to a guide for Electro 35 repairs that might help with greater details on wiring on most of the circuits used across most Electro models. It's a sizeable file, so give it a bit of time to open/download, but once you have it, it covers quite a bit with photos and tips/directions beyond the original repair manual from Yashica on the usual issues. Your photo can be embeded too...
The circuit board looks like it has "COPAL" printed on it, so I assume it's part of the shutter's circuit, rather than power.

I just looked at the two that I have open at the moment, and they both have different boards than yours does. Sorry, Zoid, but apparently there were variations over the years depending on what model it is.

Here's a photo of one I posted on flickr years ago. The white wire in question should be soldered to the board terminal immediately below where it comes out from the meter. Electro 35 GSN circuit board by Noel Parsons, on Flickr The long white wire descending diagonally on the left, which leads to the negative terminal on the battery compartment, can corrode along its length and break at either the battery compartment or its attachment to the board. This photo shows where it attaches in most GSN/GTN cameras. The arrangement of the wiring and connections may vary in earlier models.
