One is labeled as a Yashica YS9000 flash, and reportedly works in I-TTL or E-TTL modes on Nikon and Canon cameras. They are real flashes, but the dubious part is in calling them a Yashica, and the logo has a tag line of "Since 1967 Japan". I'm clueless what 1967 has to do with any Yashica branding. I initially found one up for auction on ebay, and I've even found a PDF user manual that I downloaded (although it's in spanish, which I don't read). Something just doesn't feel right, and it certainly isn't anything that I can see being produced by Yashica in Japan (pre 2005), and it is not listed on the new Hong Kong group's website as yet another rebranded product. I thought for a moment it might be something tied to the Brazilian company that was licensed to sell their own Yashica branded gear, but when 99% of the ones popping up online are showing up on Russian shopping or review sites, that didn't seem like a reasonable idea. Apparently there are a few other models (YS7000, YS6100), but no one seems to like any of them. So... anyone seen counterfeit Yashica gear or anything else being sold with this odd logo?

Even more odd is on the first page of the pdf manual for the Nikon version, the flash clearly shows "For Canon"!
Definitely getting that "doesn't feel right" feeling!

At first I thought "1967 is when Yashica and Tomioka merged" -- but that was 1968.
A quick GOOGLE search shows that this flash is not mentioned on any reputable websites, such as KEH, B&H, etc. It is however mentioned on lots of Russian, Spanish, and Brazilian websites.
En mi opinion, es BASURA.

One new detail to note.. The text logo has an active trademark - actually 3 of them, with 1 each for 3 different sizes of lettering. Heres the 3rd, with the largest sizing.
