I ran across this today -- an Accura 12mm f8 fisheye. I have never heard of it, but what caught my eye was the C/Y mount.
Apparently, it was sold with other mounts as well -- one with a Nikon mount is also on EBAY right now -- and it was also sold with an M42 mount.
And apparently it was also sold by Spiratone -- which sold other fisheye lenses and fisheye adapters.
Anyone have any experience with this lens?
Apparently, it might have been made by Sigma:

Never seen it before but, as with so many 3rd party lenses, there is a review page for this lens on the Pentax Forum site.

xkaes ... If the ebay listing you're refering to is the one from KEH - unfortunately that's not a C/Y mount lens. They usually don't miss things like that, so it's unusual they'd have misidentified a T mount as C/Y. Compare their photos to any yashica you have on hand, and there's no 'notch' cut into any one of the bayonet tabs, and all the tabs are in the wrong position, when indexed to the 'red dot'.

You're right. It WAS KEH. I can't believe they made this mistake either. This morning they listed it as a C/Y mount. They ended the auction, reset it to an Olympus mount -- and somebody bought it.
There is another one listed by someone else as a Nikon F mount, but it is obviously an M42 or T-mount, not Nikon.
For some reason this lens seems to confuse a LOT of people!!!!!
My guess??? There must be something FISHY about it.

That was mighty fast! I sent them a message about the mount, and before they could even reply about making the change... it was gone.
I have no experience with that particular lens and I do like ultra-wides, but 12 mm is too wide for me. Especially when it's a true fisheye.

I'm not interested in the lens either, but I checked it out due to the odd focal length.
Most full-frame fish-eyes are around 16mm, and most circular fish-eyes are around 8mm.
So what's with this focal length? The link I provided (above) has lots of details. The most important is that this is NOT a full-frame fish-eye, NOR a circular fish-eye. It falls in-between, and apparently has an angle of view of about 165°, not 180°.
But the results are MUCH better than a Spiratone fish-eye adapter, anyway, so if you can find one really cheap.................

I couldn't design a lens if my life depended on it, so I can only offer a link to references on the formulas and calculations on 'why 12mm' as a focal length. From the page you posted earlier, the majority of photos look very similar to every Spiratone auxiliary mount lens I recall seeing. According to the original ad for those (embedded in another forum's topic, here), it claimed the Spiratone was "equivalent to an 8mm focal length". If someone took those original auxiliary lens' blocks and tacked on another set of elements at the base to turn it into a standalone lens - I imagine that new portion would change the formula, and might account for the difference from the old to the new 'equivalent' value. I doubt it makes the lens any better... it just eliminates the need to have a base lens first, before screwing in the fisheye elements.
