Hi Ridgeblue99,
It's a bit too complicated for what lumiworx has suggested.
All I need is an adapter to accommodate my Nikon SB-400 flash for my 124G. I already have an old adapter (made in Germany) for my old Cannon Speedlite 133A flash and it works just fine on my 124G. I can't use the same adapter on my SB-400 because of the locking pin on the flash. The pin won't lock and as such will not fire. You wonder why Nikon made flashes with such a locking pin that it restricts the flash on other brand of cameras.
I know there are few of these adapters available but do not want to buy them in case it will not work, even though they are not that expensive.

Well, the reason Nikon made that lock device could be alternative to what they say. In other words, it's the same reason they won't release the Z mount specifications to third party lens makers. They are afraid of cannibalizing sales of the OEM stuff.
