While updating my list of Minolta 35mm rangefinder & viewfinder cameras (both half-frame and full-frame), I noticed that many -- especially the more recent ones (circa 1984 onward) -- have fixed-focus lenses. These were typically 35mm f4.5 lenses with a minimum DOF of 6' to infinity. (Oddly enough, they offered several of these same cameras in a more expensive, auto-focus version)
I assume that Yashica also made some 35mm viewfinder cameras with fixed-focus lenses, but I haven't found one yet.
Am I wrong?

There's several Point-n-Shoots from Yashica that are fixed-focus, and some starting as far back as the 60's in the more traditional fixed-lenses protruding from metal body silhouettes. The Yashica Flash-O-Set I & II from 1961 & 1962, the MF-1, MF-2, and MF-3 series of compact cameras from the 70's, on to the Yashica Patio from '94. My guess is that there will be far more of them in the later years, within the plastic body P-n-S models. I don't have a specific list of them all, but browsing through the online manuals at butkus.org might be the fastest way for a preliminary check.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had assumed that the MIMY was a focusing lens, just like it's sister, the 72-E -- both with a 28mm f2.8. But there are LOTS of half-frame cameras with 28mm f2.8 FIXED-focus lenses. AND there was the MIMI-S -- which was the same BUT with a focusing lens.

That's quite a collection, for sure. BUT, you've got to tell me about the FX-3 half-frame. REALLY? Is it like the Konica Auto Reflex where you can switch between full-frame and half-frame???
And is that Tarmron 75-150 the soft-focus version? I'm still lookin' for that beauty -- at a decent price.

Welcome to the Forum! Dating the camera can be tricky - it helps to know which lenses are fitted (with serial numbers) and which shutter is being used. Then there are different forms of trim which relate to the various production batches - it can be quite a minefield. A very good source of help is: www.yashicatlr.com Also, is your camera a YashicaFlex or a Yashicaflex...? Prices are all over the place and so much depends on the condition and whether it has a meter fitted - if your camera has one, it will be selenium-powered and the majority of them will have failed by now, so a fully working one will always command a better price. When you have been able to identify the model and year of production, it will be easier to assess its potential value.
