I am obviously failing to understand the special quality of the new Yashica ISO400 24exp mono 35mm film - a leading Swiss Ebay seller is offering a single roll for £60.99!
That would buy 12 rolls of 36exp Ilford HP5 Plus 400 here in the UK - one of the finest fast mono films money can buy. I can't believe they'll sell a single roll at that price; the colour version is also a whopping £59.99. I see they're also selling the new Yashica MF-1 though at a slightly more credible price - assuming it's been well-made and has a decent lens...
It's funny old world...

What might be in the box? Seems that at least 2 films are now YASHICA-branded, the other one is a color-negative film called "The golden 80s" (which makes me fear). Edit: www.yashica.com/film

.... a leading Swiss Ebay seller is offering a single roll for £60.99! There are a few Chinese sellers listing both of these in 2, 5, and 10 packs through ebay to the US - and they're all overpriced but nothing close to that for one roll! That's a ridiculous price no matter what's in the box. I bought a 100 foot bulk roll of TMax 200 for far less, and I'll pass on the trendy mystery film.

Edit: www.yashica.com/film yashica.com is now being held, owned by some dubious HK syndicate, some have speculated. Neither this domain, nor into any Way, this has something to-do with the great old YASHICA brand, we do all knew & love....it's simply since 2005 laid to rest, Kyocera (the ceramic giant) shut-down all of the Yashica brand business into spring 2005. I knew this quite well - and there was even a DPR Post then - it felt literally like a Death into the Family...
Please don't buy some overpriced garbage with unknown Film inside, only because it's being Yashica-branded and also hefty expensive, quite useless.
For B&W 135 Films, i've always loved, liked & used Kodak T-Max 100, 400, Tri-X/TX400, Ilford Delta 100/XP2 Super, HP5, Scala x200 Agfa, APX 100 & 400. Color: Kodak Ektar 100, Portra 400, Ektachrome 100, and way before: Kodachrome. Hope that helps.
