It has been a while since I opened the packaging for this superbly made Yashica Copy Stand II.
I do apologise for not ironing the infinity sheet before taking the piccie! This stand - I've never come across Yashica's Copy Stand I - features in both Yashica and Contax catalogues and is a very sturdy piece of kit. It weighs quite a bit with its heavy wooden base and all the metal brackets that support the lights and camera. They offer plenty of flexible movements but once set, they hold their positions perfectly. This makes it ideal for copying documents, works of art, etc.; the grid on the base makes alignment a breeze.

It tends to get most use in macro work where the perfect alignment makes focus-stacking an easy process. I tend to use banks of LEDs rather than the 2 bulbs provided for by the Stand although now that daylight-balanced bulbs are becoming quite common, it's about time to give them a try instead. It's quality is simply excellent - I can quite see why Contax chose it for their cameras too.
