Hello Yashica lovers, Does anybody here tried to use the AAA battery adapter of a 200-AF on a 230-AF? The battery adapter and cover of the 200-AF fits perfectly on the 230-AF body, both cameras require a 6 volts battery (2CR5) to operate, the 200-AF is also capable to use 4xAAA batteries as power source, but not sure about the 230-AF. Usually the AAA batteries are 1.2v, so combining 4 of them does not add up 6v, obviously the 200-AF is capable to work with that small difference but maybe it is not enough for the 230-AF. If someone did it and worked out without breaking anything, then I would appreciate if you share your experience here and let me know what type of AAA batteries were used. Thanks in advance.

I have a 230-AF, but not the 200-AF adapter, however... The nominal voltage of both Alkaline AA and AAA batteries should be 1.5v, and usually it's the rechargeable Lithium versions that might vary in voltage to output something between 1.2v to 1.3v - so I think you should be okay with the Alkalines in a 230 body. With a digital multi-meter, I usually get a reading in excess of 1.5 on fresh Alkaline cells of between 1.53 to 1.57 volts, depending on manufacturer. According to the datasheet on a 2CR5 equivalent from DuraCell, their Coppertop Lithium model has 1470 mAh at 6v, while their standard AAA's would have about 1000 mAh. If the adapter's batteries are in series (I assume they'd have to be) then the same amperage for 1 applies for all 4. Given the difference, the only downside might be a loss of activations you'd get on one charge of 4 fresh AAA's compared to a 2CR5.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I am using rechargeable batteries, tried them with the 200-AF and works but not last much, approx. two 36 exp rolls and it's over. I will try with alkaline ones but wanted to use rechargeable ones for obvious reasons but it seems not to be an option. Thanks!.

I use rechargeables whenever I can too, but this might be one of the times when the power circuit really does require the voltage/amperage to match the tolerances available in the batteries in use at the time.
I've noticed I can use cheap AAA rechargeables in a 167MT, but I have to use 4 fresh AA alkalines in it's external P-5 battery grip to get any power at all.
