Wow... truly sad to think that Kyocera had so little faith in the camera division as a whole. This is probably the corporate way of bleeding off every last ounce of Yashica creativity as a licensing deal to grab the cash and carve up the assets to sell off. A quick peek at a division portal at Kyocera's website shows what's left - and I assume the piece they were truly after from the start - the optics division (a.k.a., Tomioka). There's a notice still showing about the 'Notice of business consolidation' from Oct 1st, 2018 : global.kyocera.com/prdct/optec/index.html

Braun SR2000Y has more than a passing resemblance to the FX-3 Super 2000 too! I think that was about 2004.

No worries ….. I missed the Carena variation, so now I know of it, I need to squeeze it into my chart.

There’s a ton of these Cosina Cameras and variants in different lens mounts and under different manufacturers. They don’t just include the Yashica FX-3 supers, but the Nikon FM10. There are later models like the Canon T60 and Olympus OM-2000 which added bells and whistles like aperture priority.

But what about quality?... ok, all made by Cosina, but maybe does not mean that all have the same (good or bad) quality standards or quality control of the Yashica branded ones.
The Yashicas SLR from 70s and 80s were the cheap version of the Contax ones... Are those Phenix and Carena the cheapest version of the Yashicas?

Not necessarily all made by Cosina. The design was used by some Chinese manufacturers as well. The original FX-3 was made by Cosina for Yashica. The chassis is near identical to the Contax 139 so seems Cosina had access to the Yashica designs. Cosina then used the design for various other cameras, including the Contax S2. It seems Cosina probably used Chinese factories for assembly and, maybe, that's how the Chinese came to get the design. All supposition on my part.

Another variant that I don't think has been mentioned. The Centon K100. Except is uses a Seiko electronic shutter instead of the Copal mechanical one. Here's a variant you won't find anywhere else. A FX-3 chassis with a FX-3 Super 2000 shutter with top and bottom plates, covers and various other parts from a K100.

I own a PHENIX DC-303 with CONTAX mount. Its a somewhat strange camera: It has an additional contact in the hot shoe, like it had a "flash-ready"-indicator. But it hasn't: There is no cable connected to this contact. And ... it has 13 entries on the time-knob ... but only 12 positions are available. Chinese standard quality at that time ... (It's for sale, you may contact me for details)
Rumors say, that the FX3 was already developed completely by COSINA and lateron COSINA sold the camera with different bayonets to several brands (including CANON and OLYMPUS) and OEMs. (I'd like to see the interior of a CONTAX S2 in comparison with the FX-3 or the super 2000)
And later PHENIX of China must have taken over the rights.
Maybe COSINA already let PHENIX build the camera before.

They are pretty similar, to the point that they share some parts. I thought I had some pictures but can't find them. The shutter is different and the mounting points are slightly different but the S2 chassis is clearly derived from the FX-3 (which is derived from the Contax 139). In the K100, I previously mentioned, because of the Seiko shutter the chassis needed different mounting points but the points for the Copal shutter are still there, just not drilled out.

The Copal shutter fitted to the FX-3, and presumably the DC-303, has a position for 1/2000 but it isn't click stopped. Maybe they couldn't get a reliable 1/2000 so blocked it off. Not sure what they did to achieve it later as the FX-3 Super 2000 shutter looks the same. Maybe lighter blades?

They were also sold under the KENKO Brand, with different mounts, including C/Y:
