Hi y'all,
I've been having some trouble recently with a growing number of fake flickr 'faves' issued at random from accounts - bots? Sock puppets? - with female names. Some of them feature mildly erotic shots of young women, others don't even have any pics at all, but all of them try to lure the viewer to some nude photos obviously linked to erotic pay sites.
Initially I just ignored them, but those 'faves' have multiplied in recent times -- only today I received 99 faves from presumably non-existent persons -- and are getting to be a real nuisance, so I started blocking the accounts in question and reporting them to flickr. However, I somehow have the feeling that these measures have not contributed anything to stemming the steady flow of unwanted 'admirers' of my mediocre output as a hobby photographer...
Have you guys out there made similar experiences?
cheers
Michael

I think you can go into your Settings and turn off Third Party access to your photos, Michael. That should keep them at bay.

Thanks, PF, but flickr have finally taken action, closed those accounts and scrapped the 'faves' from my pictures.
It's certainly nice to be credited for your work -- but not in this way...

I think that these were all spambots for “Sinder”, an adult social media app that is just what it sounds like it is. Mine all showed an unnatural interest for camera porn.
