I know it's not strictly a Yashica lens, but it does share the lens mount and I though it might be worth posting a few samples from this lens and some thoughts as it's not one that most of us will use. I have had mine for a long time, but haven't used it much. This is more to do with me going through a phase of not doing much photography rather than anything to do with the lens. I know that a lot of people imagine that a 35mm isn't wide enough to shoot architecture and that you need the 17 or 24mm lenses. I think that actually comes from not having used lenses like the PC Distagon or other shift lenses. Very wide lenses introduce a false perspective which can distort the sense of a building or space and this is made more extreme the you shift them. I'm lucky enough to have a Canon 24mm TS-E and found that it could be too wide for exterior shots. When Ffordes had a PC-Distagon for a very good price I decided to go for it. It turns out to be a very practical and usable lens for larger spaces and exterior shots. Here are a few samples from my recent walk-around at the V&A Museum's new entrance all using some degree of shift and taken on an Eos 5Ds. First 3 from the V&A...
