If anyone would like a CGCM and enjoys a gamble the 'legendary' Keith Rock has one. It might actually be worth the risk of getting something completely different via the rocky cameras lucky dip ordering system, as it's his summer sale... so 50% off the advertised price. CGCM @ Rocky Cameras Just don't order multiple items (the more you have in a parcel the more opportunity for chaos) and don't blame me if it all goes horribly wrong.

Hi all!
I registered just because of this thread!
Has anyone tried adapting one of these M35's to a shutter & lens that you can control? In close viewing of online photos (I don't own an M35 *yet*) it seems like they do not have an m39 threaded mount, since they were made to be attached to that grey shutter contraption. So it would seem to be a pretty custom job. I was thinking of a Synchro-Compur type.
Even crazier, I'm dreaming about adapting an ultra-fast x-ray lens + a standalone external shutter.
It would be fun/silly/cool to adapt one of these! Any insight?

Well, I hate to tell you this, but I did buy mine just because of the model designation on the adapter. I haven't done anything with it because the shutter mechanism isn't functioning, and I'm not too keen on taking it apart because I don't have a microscope to mount it on.
I would think that your plan should work, as basically the arrangement shown is an external shutter mech attached between the scope lens and the camera body. If you took a lens/shutter combination off of a 35mm folding camera (such as an Agfa Super-Silette), mounting the assembly on a body cap, then attaching that to an extension tube could work too.
And welcome to the Forum!
