ML 100 f4 Bellows and a Yashica 230AF

I can guarantee this combination is not one you're likely to see very often but as a recent and admittedly somewhat reluctant convert to the superb quality of the 230AF, trying some serious macro work was always going to be a priority.

Picture quality may be an issue because you are forced to use the Yashica 1.6x AF Converter which adds some unwanted glass elements between the lovely ML lens and the film.  The sharpness of the 100mm Bellows lens is pretty close to that of its illustrious and uber-expensive Zeiss cousin - indeed from f8-f22 there's no discernible difference; even f32 is very usable.

I'll put up some piccies soon showing the lens in the combination above but also using a Yashica FX-A, so avoiding the optical intervention of the AF Converter, and providing a true appreciation of its qualities.  The ML Bellows lens is one of the genuinely under-priced Yashica lenses; presumably this is simply a reflection of the small numbers of photographers that use a bellows as it can't be a comment on the lens' optical performance.
